1. Who We Are

HEIC to JPG Converter ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at heictojpg.barev.la (the "Service"). We provide a free, browser-based tool to convert HEIC image files to JPG format.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect no personal information.

• We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any account information.
• We do not collect payment information. The Service is free.
• We do not collect your photos, files, or any content you convert.
• We do not use cookies of any kind.
• We do not use analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) that track individual users.

3. How Your Files Are Processed

All file conversion happens entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript running on your own device. Specifically:

• When you select a HEIC file, it is read by your browser's local memory only.
• The conversion is performed on your device using the open-source heic2any library.
• The resulting JPG file is created in your browser's memory and downloaded directly to your device.
• At no point is any file transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.
• When you close or refresh the page, all files are immediately discarded from browser memory.

4. Cookies and Tracking

This website uses Google Analytics (powered by Google LLC) to understand how visitors use the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to collect anonymous usage data such as:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• General geographic location (city/country level)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Referral source (how you found the site)

This data is anonymous and aggregated — we cannot identify you personally. Google Analytics does not have access to your photos or converted files. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use any other cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting technologies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• heic2any (MIT license) — loaded from cdnjs.cloudflare.com. Cloudflare may log standard server request metadata (IP address, browser type) as part of normal CDN operation. We have no access to these logs. You can review Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics — provided by Google LLC. Collects anonymous usage statistics via cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy and opt-out options.

We have no advertising partners, no data brokers, and no affiliate tracking integrations.

6. Children's Privacy

This Service does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. Since we collect no information from anyone, this is satisfied by design.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you rights over your personal information. Because we collect zero personal information, there is nothing to access, delete, or opt out of selling. We do not sell data — we have no data to sell.

8. European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the GDPR applies to the processing of your personal data. Because we process no personal data, there is no lawful basis required. No data transfers occur to any country.

9. Data Security

Because all processing is local to your device and no data is transmitted or stored by us, there is no server-side data to secure. Your files remain entirely within your own device's memory during conversion.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how we handle data (for example, if we add analytics or advertising), we will update this Privacy Policy and change the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Any changes will be posted here.
